A Word from the WORD…

John 11:35-37

35. Jesus wept.

36. Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!

37. And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?

The story of JESUS raising Lazarus from the dead is one that many of us are familiar with. In it, we find one of the most powerful aspects of our loving LORD’s character: HE weeps when HE witnesses the effects of sin in the lives of HIS beloved. When we remember that we have been called to be like JESUS and have HIS compassion, then perhaps we will start looking at situations that our loved ones go through through the eyes of love. JESUS hated to see what sin did to HIS friend, but HE knew that HE could do something about it. Likewise, you and I should weep for what sin does in the lives of those we love and consider friends, but we should also remember that GOD has given us the power to do something about it. After all, a true friend is one who introduces you to JESUS and desires in word and deed for you to be all you can in HIM. Let’s start raising our friends from the dead. GOD bless!
